Lyric Music & More: February 23
As we celebrate Black History Month, we honor the depth and breadth of Black artistry with the rousing finale of Lyric’s virtual concert, Lawrence Brownlee and Friends: The Next Chapter. This uplifting piece features the entire cast, including Whitney Morrison, J’Nai Bridges, Lawrence Brownlee, Martin Luther Clark, Lunga Eric Hallam, Leroy Davis, and Will Liverman singing the beloved spiritual “Every Time I Feel the Spirit.” It may be cold outside, but this jubilant melody is sure to warm and inspire you. Will Liverman Dreams of a New Day: Songs by Black Composers
In an interview with NPR's Noel King, baritone Will Liverman talks about his career in opera, the pioneering composer and singer Henry Burleigh, and the story behind his new album Dreams of a New Day: Songs by Black Composers. The Ryan Opera Center alumnus is also the co-creator of a new opera, The Factotum.
